Stary dobry pop zagląda tu do zakazanych zakamarków lo-fi i rozmydlonego dźwięku kaset magnetofonowych (dodajmy, że starych i czasem wciąganych przez mechanizm odtwarzacza). Kto by pomyślał, że podczas pogoni za krystaliczną czystością dźwięków, w sytuacji, w której kolejne reedycje płyt Beatelsów są coraz głośniejsze (patrz: Loudness war), ktoś jeszcze mógłby się zachwycać tym, co wychodzi spod mikserskiej ręki Washed Out. Ale tu przecież o to chodzi.
Wespół z docenionym, i być może zasługującym tu na większą uwagę Neon Indian, oferują rozmyślnie powyginane, rozmagnesowane, brudne i zarazem gorące synthpopowe kawałki. Martwi jednak powtarzanie tej samej formuły chwytliwych przebojów lat 70-tych i 80-tych. Coś niedobrego musi się dziać w muzyce, że zaczyna historię niejako od nowa zmieniając w prawdzie techniczne podejście do procesu twórczego, ale doprowadzając do kompletnego odtwórstwa pomysłów. Cóż jednak poradzić - to działa!

Album "High Times", z którego pochodzi "Belong", został wydany jedynie w formacie kasetowym i nie jest dostępny w sprzedaży jako kopia cyfrowa.
